Austin Bats!

Austin Texas is known, at least among locals, for having the largest colony of Mexican Free Tail Bats in North America, living right under the Congress Street Bridge where it crosses over the Colorado River.    The bat has become the iconic symbol of Austin from the name of our ice hockey team to a local college mascot.   The bats will emerge from under the bridge at sunset between March and November and are a sight not to miss.
