About the Materials

Clay:  The clay used for all hand-built and wheel-thrown works is stoneware produced by Armadillo Clay & Supply, Austin Texas.  The clay used for cast pieces is Amaco #1 Porcelain Slip.  All ceramic works are high temperature fired (Cone 6).

Glazes: All glazes used are lead-free.  The glazes used on functional pieces, which may be used for food or beverages, are commercially manufactured food-safe glazes.

Adhesives:  Due to the complexity in design, some of the Studio Works may have been assembled using commercial grade epoxies or cyanoacrylates.

Other Materials:  Vacuum tubes, incandescent bulbs, and other related items may be incorporated into the design of some of the Studio Works.
